At its core, B.A.S.E.C. started as a conceptual artwork after my space training, and became tangible through the collaboration with my mom and the making of that first jacket. Everything since then — garments, objects, collaborations — has really been an extension of that initial idea: a speculative space agency that’s less about technology and more about people, access, imagination, and craft.
Our future outpost, opening later this year in Nassau, Bahamas, will serve as a working hub for projects designed to engage and support our community. It will be a space for artists, explorers, and makers to gather, build, and imagine together. I’m looking forward to welcoming you into this growing community — united by a shared goal: to expand possibility and strengthen the places we call home.

I trained for missions into space at the Yuri Gagarin Russian State Science Research Cosmonaut Training Centre in Star City, Russia. A major component of space training is experiencing dislocation. You learn how to tolerate stress; you spin, jump, shake, fall and float. You experience intense gravity; then you are weightless.
